A Comprehensive Guide to Islam for Beginners

The meaning of Islam: -
Islam is a religion of peace and tranquility. Humility, respect for all, the sanctity of one’s life and property and cleanliness are some of the principles of Islam. Islam is encouraging modesty, simplicity and ethical behavior in social matters, financial issues and overall matters of life. Here is a comprehensive guide to Islam for beginners.
Islam for Beginners
Monotheism and Islam: -
The founding principle of Islam is the Oneness of Allah. This is the core of Islam, that there is only one God and that is Allah the Almighty. He is the Supreme Authority, the Creator of all worlds and everything within them. He is the Giver, the Sustainer of all. Everything happens according to Allah’s will and we, the Muslims must worship only Allah.
Even if we need a thing as petty as a pin, we must ask from Allah and nobody else. The purpose of Islam is to submit oneself to the will of Allah. Muslims must consider themselves as the slaves of Allah and they perform salaat for Allah. They are supposed to spend their lives according to the will of Allah. they must strive to seek goodwill and pleasure of Allah.
Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)-the Seal of Prophets: -
Since the creation of this world and human beings, Allah sent prophets and messengers from time to time for the guidance of mankind. These prophets and messengers were normal human beings, but with exemplary character and personalities.
Allah blessed many of them with scripts and holy books. Allah put them into tests and trials so that the people of their times could see for themselves that those who submit to Allah’s will shall overcome by the grace of Allah. Some were even endowed with miracles of Allah to make the people believe in the holiness of the prophets.
This process of sending prophets ended when Muhammad (PBUH) was sent for the guidance of mankind until the end of the world. This is also an integral part of a Muslim’s faith to believe in the finality of Prophethood. Muhammad (PBUH) completed the religion of Islam and served as the model of excellence for mankind.
His life is the best example of Muslims to follow if they are to attain success in this world and hereafter. His life and his teachings are recorded in the form of Sunnah and ahadith for Muslims to follow.
Holy Quran- a complete code of life: -
Allah revealed holy books on his prophets for the guidance of people. He revealed the Torah on Hazrat Moosa (AS), Zabur on Hazrat Dawood (AS), Bible on Hazrat Isa (AS) and the Holy Quran on beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The Holy Quran remains as the most perfect and holistic guide for Muslims till the Day of Judgment. It contains guidance and information pertaining to any subject and any matter of life. Those who spend their lives according to the teachings of the Quran shall be triumphant in this world and hereafter.
The Day of Resurrection: -
The belief of Muslims is incomplete without the conviction that everyone shall be held accountable for his deeds on the Day of Judgment. Every Muslim believes that this world is a temporary place and every soul that has been gifted life shall taste death. We have been sent to the world to spend our lives according to the teachings of Islam.
In times of tests and trials, we must remain steadfast. Then on the Day of Judgment, everyone shall be held accountable for their lives. Allah will punish those who transgress the boundaries of Islam. Depending upon the deeds, people shall be rewarded or punished.
There are glad tidings of eternal bliss in Heaven for those who submit themselves to the will of Allah. For those who do wrong, shall find their abode in the darkest pit of fire of Hell.
These are some of the most basic concepts of Islam for beginners.
