Bab ul-Fatah- Going back in time to the gateway to the Kaaba

  • The conquest of Makkah is a significant event that took place in the history of Islam. Its breakthrough victory is a remarkable landmark that deserves special mention. It is also the place where the Holy Prophet PBUH entered on the 20th of Ramadan 8A.H.
  • When the Muslim’s army reached Makkah, they first stopped at Dhu Tuwa. Only when the Holy Prophet PBUH camel Qaswa stopped, was he able to put his head down in prostration with his beard touching the area of saddle. This was an act to show gratitude to ALLAH.
  • It was soon time for the Holy Prophet PBUH to draw his troops towards the site of Makkah. This was the moment for Khalid bin Waleed to take command and enter towards the upper part of Kada.
  • The Holy Prophet’s grandson Ali sat with him on his camel’s back when the triumphal entry event took place in Makkah.
  • The time had come for the Prophet PBUH to perform the ritual of tawaf around the holy Kabah. The 360 idols put around the Kaaba were soon pushed over by a stick held by the Holy Prophet PBUH. It is narrated that the Holy Prophet said the following:
  • “The truth has come and falsehood has vanished away. Falsehood is ever vanishing” [Quran 17:81]
  • “The truth has come and falsehood originates not nor brings again” [Quran 34:49]
  • Once the tawaf was completed, the Prophet came down from the camel. He prayed at the Maqame e Ibrahim. This was followed by the consumption of water at the well of the famous Zam Zam. When the keys of the Kabah were brought to the holy Prophet PBUH, he went inside for a short time. It was soon observed that the Quraish had entered inside the Haram, standing anxiously in line to witness what the Prophet PBUH would intend to do next.
  • The Holy Prophet went and stood at the Kabah’s, held its frame and spoke to the former prosecutors. They were now humbled down in front of him. He asked them to abolish all forms of pagan practices and establish Islam by all means.
  • Finally, the Prophet PBUH worked to order Hazrat Bilal to Climb above the Kabah’s roof and recite the azaan. The entire valley in Makkah was resonated in every direction with the beautiful tone of the call to prayer.
And this is the beautiful story of the Bab-ul-Fatah. It marks an area of great achievement and profound significance in Islam.

To achieve this end, you may get help from the black stripe on the floor. This stripe should be on your right side.
