Culture of Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has been known by two of the holiest sites in Islam, the cities of Makkah and Madinah, it is located on the Arabian peninsula, most of part of the country predominately desert and official language in Arabic.


History Of Saudi Arabia:

Saudi Arabia was Founded in 1932 by King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rehman Al Saud. They Country still ruled by the Al-Saud Family. In past country was known by trade between what is now Iraq and Iran (Mesopotimai and Persia), as the Islamic empire expanded, the cities of Mecca and Medina became major centers of learning and thought regarding not only religion, but also philosophy, medicine and the arts.

Economy of Saudi Arabia:

Most Muslim countries’ economies are based on Oil sectors, if we talk about the Saudi Arabia economy, so it is based almost export of oil. The government controls most of its economic, generates its oil resources.

Religion of Saudi Arabia:

The official religion of Saudi is Islam, specifically the Sunni branch. Muslims come all around the world to know how to perform Hajj and Umrah. This country is also known by Makkah and Madinah the city of Holy Prophet (PBUH). Saudi Arabia is the center of Islam, as a Muslim, every single man and women love to perform hajj in her/his life once.

Behavior:

Rule has to follow, if you are living in Saudi Arabia, mostly for women.  Ladies are expected to dress modestly, with skirts to the ankles, arms and hair covered. Men and women who are not closely related are discouraged from mingling publicly.Women are not permitted to travel without permission from their closest male relative nor are they allowed to drive. Public dancing, playing of music or display of movies is forbidden. Only Muslims may enter the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Geographical Location:

Desert and Mountain. The vast majority of Saudi Arabia is harsh, sandy desert. Most of the country is therefore uninhabited, with populations concentrated in cities near reliable sources of water. Saudi Arabia does have large oil deposits that currently serve as the primary basis of the Saudi economy and as a major source of oil for much of the rest of the world.

Culture and Art:

Camels are used for trading caravans.Saudi Arabia has a diverse cultural and craft traditions, including basket making, weaving and jewelry making.Major events in the Saudi year correspond to those in the Muslim religious calendar. The month of Hajj, during which Muslims from all over the world travel to Mecca, is a particularly important time for Muslims. In Saudi Arabia, it results in the influx of thousands of Muslims from all over the world to share in this holy pilgrimage.

The month of fasting, Ramadan and Umrah in Ramadan, is another significant holiday. Muslims fast during the daylight hours and at the end celebrate the Eid al-Fitr, exchanging gifts and visiting friends and relatives.

Hajj e Badal

Hajj e Badal is referred to the Hajj performed on behalf of someone else who is physically unfit or is no more in this world. Tawaf of Kaaba

Tawaf means circling around something. Here it means moving around Kaaba seven times. Preparation: Pass the upper sheet of Ihram from underneath the right arm and put it on the left shoulder. This act bares the right shoulder and is known as Iztaba. Ablutions (vudu) is essential for tawaf. Reciting of Talbiyah is stopped when you reach Hajar-e- Aswad, the starting point of tawaf. Niyyah (Intention): Stand in front of Kaabah facing Hajar-e-Aswad (the Black Stone) in such a way that the whole Hajre-e-Aswad is on your right side. To achieve this end, you may get help from the black stripe on the floor. This stripe should be on your right side. Then without raising your hands make Niyyah (intention) for Tawaf Umrah: " O Allah, I perform Tawaf of Masjide Haram to please You. Make it easy for me and accept it from me."
